Jason Danner

Core Team, Cover Crops Working Group 

Jason Danner grew up as the youngest of nine children on his family farm in west central Iowa. He is currently the West Region Sales Manager for Heartland Co-op, based out of West Des Moines. A graduate from Iowa State University, he has worked for Heartland Co-op for 19 years. Serving as a Sales Agronomist for 14 of those years, he helps farmers produce and market profitably.

 Through education and implementation of proven conservation practices, Danner’s goal is to maximize customers' return on investments to ensure sustainability for future generations. He has been very involved in local watersheds, helping grow awareness of cover crops through open houses, field days, and grower meetings.

 Through his involvement with the Conservation Infrastructure Initiative, Danner has helped identify different mixes of cover crop seed, determine application timings and rates, and build one-stop shop programs to help eliminate risk and expand cover crop acres in Iowa.
