Ryan Heiniger is the Director of Agriculture and Conservation Innovations for Pheasants Forever. In his new role, Heiniger works to expand partnerships in the agricultural community by showcasing the compatibility and profitability of conservation programs within production agriculture and working lands. He grew up on a family farm in Des Moines County Iowa and developed a strong appreciation for agriculture, conservation and hunting. He graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology. Prior to joining PF in 2013 and returning to his roots on the farm, he worked for Ducks Unlimited for 15 years in several capacities in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota and Kansas. Heiniger has extensive experience working with diverse partners to conserve habitats at landscape scales using a combination of voluntary, incentive-based habitat restoration and protection strategies.
