Shawn Richmond

Core Team, Conservation Drainage Working Group 

Shawn Richmond joined the Agribusiness Association of Iowa (AAI) in April of 2015 to support the scientific monitoring efforts of the Iowa Nutrient Research and Education Council (INREC) organization. He was previously a Senior Environmental Specialist with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship for 12 years where he managed the Iowa Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) and provided leadership on the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy and Gulf Hypoxia Task Force. Richmond received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science in 1999 and his master’s degree in Water Resources in 2003, both from Iowa State University. Richmond is the Environmental Technology Director for AAI. As part of his duties, he provides environmental services to the INREC Organization. Richmond’s strengths are in environmental programs development and management, science, and new technology development.
